The Philosophy
In the 1920s the M.W. Baccus Film Company noted that the burgeoning
media of film was catering almost exclusively to a single demographic.
Acknowledging the inherent unfairness of this industry-wide bias and
having enough business savvy to smell a ripe market, the M.W. Baccus
Film Company became one of the first production companies in the
country to develop, produce, and distribute films for an
African-American audience.
With this model in mind Baccus Films was reborn in 2003 with a
commitment to supplying quality media to the diverse under-provided
markets of the new century. We have undertaken to accomplish this goal
by pairing responsible fiscal models, based on market awareness and
fiduciary adherence, with unique individuals of exceeding artistic
ability and vision.
Our overall approach to the filmmaking business may best be summed-up
by these two slogans: "free the Artist to be an Artist" and "make sure
you make money on this one so you can make another one."
